Secret 7″ Gallery Unveiled
27 March 2014
Alongside singles by other artists such as Elbow, Black Sabbath, T Rex, and Lorde, 100 copies of ‘Virginia Plain’ on 7″ vinyl will be sold on Record Store Day (19 April, 2014) in aid of War Child, each with a unique cover.
As part of the Secret 7″ project, the public have been able to submit designs for all the covers, alongside other invited contributors including Jake & Dinos Chapman, Sir Anthony Gormley, Sir Paul Smith, Jeremy Deller & Stanley Donwood.
The 700 sleeves from all the artists involved will be exhibited Downstairs At Mother in London on April 12th & 13th, then on Record Store Day – 19th – you can get your hands on one, or more, for £45 apiece. You don’t know who created the sleeve, or even which song it’s for – the secret lies within.
You can now check out all the artwork for the project on their website – www.secret-7.com – and watch a video with some of their renowned contributors below.
